Business Meeting Notes 5-14-19

1. The Swedish American Institute in Minneapolis

June 8th Viking display guided tour

This is the first stop State side of the Viking display with artifacts from boat graves, the Upsala University and other universities. We need a minimum of 10 people (which we currently have) and can go up to 30 people. It is $20 with a deposit required. Lady Rachel is making the arrangements. Please contact her this week about reserving a spot. We do not have a time scheduled yet, it will be between 10 am and 1 pm and we can be in the museum for the rest of the time they are open. Car pooling is an option and will be discussed later.

2. Runestone Museum History Live! event

We have a larger space this year so we can have the three pavilions/tents from Tim, Stephan and Aja.

Activities planned are coin stamping, leather rune punches on dog tags or bracelets, chain mail demo, partners lace weaving, and a name generator. With Heavy fighting taking place a couple times a day. Please talk to fighters you know, the more we can get the easier it will be on all of them in armor.

We also have a A&S display table planned that will need to be manned all day.

There will be a planning session Tuesday 5-21 at Jill's house starting at 6 pm. Please message me if you need the address.

3. Waterbearing at WW

Rockhaven will be the main group responsible for making sure supplies are ready for different activities around the site this year.

We will be providing the consumables (with full reimbursement) such as pickles, oranges, pretzels, Gatorade and bottles for waterbearing on the Heavy field.

WW is providing the 5 gallon water coolers, and a golf cart will be available to us for moving them around the site.

As the schedule gets built I will be creating a sign up sheet so we can get people to the classes and activities they want to go to and keep the everyone hydrated. The basics are making sure the coolers are full every morning and checking on them once or twice during the day. Heavy will need more. Also drumming up volunteers for waterbearing on the heavy field.

Thanks to everyone for their input on this.

4. Fall Crown Tournament has been awarded to Rockhaven. We will be hosting it up at the Crosby Elementary school.

We will be moving planning to the Rockhaven - Event Planning group. If you are not already there and want to be, let myself or Tim know.

We will be having monthly meetings to plan throughout the summer with other days to make things planned as they come up and as time permits.

Yours In Service,

Lady Muirenn
